Awesome

A must have for dungeon crawler lovers.

Broken game

Great game, but the iCloud sync feature wont work, and though many users have reported this problem, there is no feedback from the developer on the support page on how to fix it. Useless if you want to play on your iPad and iPhone both.

Great!... but far too difficult game

Im loathe to make such a complaint, but Ive yet to even see the final boss and Ive nearly unlocked all achievements (the final boss ones ignominiously so through achievement points). The perfect solo game: no stupid animations running your battery down, no in-app nonsense. It might be compared to a solitaire version of the board game dominion. If you like that game, you will also enjoy this. I love the game, truly, but the dev needs to tweak the difficulty. The rogue-like randomness already provides sufficient challenge; simply adding the final boss to the current medium difficulty would surely project it into hard territory.

Excellent card-based rogue-like!

One of my favorite rogue-likes to date. Yes, the artwork is a little simplistic in some areas, but the gameplay is fantastic. Solid amount of content and satisfying deck-building gameplay. Ive really enjoyed playing this game on my iPad in my spare time and would absolutely love to see a sequel.

Great game

I bought it a few hours ago, more fun to play than much more expensive games. You will not notice the graphics after the first few minutes. I highly recommend for a few dollars. Great job!!!

Favorite rogue-like on the App Store

This is my favorite rogue-like on the App Store, striking a great balance between challenge, fun, and advancement. This is not a "fair" gam, you can easily be thrown into a random situation that you are not equipped to handle, but this is offset by each game taking only 30 minutes to play at most. Expect to die a lot, and REJOICE when you are victorious! It took me 94 attempts before I cleared the dungeon for the first time on Normal difficulty.

I love it!

Great gameplay and depth. It takes a while to get past that second floor... Never have I ever been so elated to beat a game! And once beaten the first time, there is so much more. My first 5/5 on the App Store. Bravo! The art is an acquired taste. But once you get over it, its inseparable :)

Best Deck Building Game On The iOS

The game play is amazing, rich, and challenging. I always come back for more. This game is a rouge-like with deep deck building elements. There are a variety of classes to choose from. Each class builds their deck very differently. You fight monsters that have different decks, so each fight is unique. You can purchase a variety of things from different types of stores. You can level up and gain new abilities. Its mechanics are so beautiful, you dont even mind the elementary, crude graphics. Take it from someone that designs table top games as a hobby and rarely writes reviews. This game is superb. SUPERB. Im an excellent graphic artist/animator. If the creators are willing to enhance the imagery of the game, I would be willing to partner with them to redesign all of cards and other graphics in the game. Ive designed well over 300 different cards form table top games, its not too much effort form me. The game is too good to have bad art. My cell phone number is 703-338-8291. Contact me and leave me a message if youre interested and we could work something out. Maybe I could even show you some art samples over Skype?

Worst Game Ever Played

I dont even know where to begin. This game is really bad in all aspects. Extremely poor gaming framework, horrible graphics, bad interface and is absolutely no fun. I cant believe they let this game on the App Store. Dont waste your time! Look for other options.

Awesome strategy game

This game features great mechanics. The classes keep the game fresh and interesting. This is well worth the money and I really hope this developer makes another game. The only downside was the graphics on the cards but they are charming in their own way. I would compare this mostly to deck building games like Ascension and Dominion but the class mechanics are very unique.

Excellent

Wonderfully balanced and in depth strategy.

Extremely well made deck building game.

I love the fact that there are no in app purchases. If youre looking for a great way to pass the time, look no further. The replay value is top notch. The graphics may be a little dated, but please dont let that affect you from passing up on this game. Play through the game a few times and you will be hooked.

Good, but not great

It pains me to say it, but I think this game is a bit overhyped. Its good, and Im glad I bought it, but I have three criticisms: 1. Its repetitious and feels grindy. 2. There isnt as much depth in the card-battle play as I was expecting. Most hands play themselves. 3. The graphics add nothing to the enjoyment, and there are almost no sound effects. I know #3 will rile up some purists, but games that feature beautiful artwork (Ascension, for example) and sound are simply more enjoyable to play. Fun game, and I will play it now and again, but its not a 5-star game in my book.

Best app

Such a fun game! So addicted! Loveeeeeeeee it! It makes you really think about strategy.

Great gameplay

Just overlook the weird graphics. So good.

In need of a major rebalance

One of the most fun aspects of playing any roguelike is learning from your deaths. But besides how you build your deck, there seems to be no further strategy in playing besides the order in which you play your cards. There also seems to be an over-reliance on monsters that simply discard cards from your hand or worse. Exiling cards, replacing them with curses, monsters that chain ridiculous combos, etc. There are very few ways to play around your opponents cards (unless your character has an ability that allows them to bypass the monster completely). I love games that are hard, but there has to be a few more layers of strategy. Maybe when I unlock all of the cards the game will be balanced, or maybe Im playing this game completely wrong, but Ive completely hit a wall in progress where all I can do is grind achievement points to unlock cards and it feels like Im cheating. This game does have a hook. Im rapidly closing in on the 100 death mark. But man, it would be so much more fun if the game didnt boil down to a card chucking match. Side note: The game difficulty doesnt seem to change anything. Not sure whats up with that, but hey, if Velociraptor is exactly the same difficulty as Grizzly Bear I welcome the free increase in achievement points. : )

Its 2:00 am but must play

Love this awesome deck builder. Totally worth the purchase price. Graphics are fine. Want to keep playing way past bedtime. Only wish you could keep a card for the next play through when you die.
